The mission of KP Mathematics is to impact student learning by supporting teachers with mathematics materials, programs, and professional development that promote engagement, foster deep understanding, create cognitive challenges, and inspire, motivate, and empower.

In addition to being a place value model that illustrates grouping by tens,
KP Ten-Frame Tiles have a unique feature that generates an innovative and highly successful method of teaching base-ten mathematics to children in the elementary grades:

KP Ten Frame Tiles

The uniqueness of Ten-Frame Tiles lies in their ability to picture relationships-within-10 and to picture those same relationships-within-10 in every place in the base-ten place value system. Thus, the mathematics of ones-within-10 can be used instructionally to clarify, simplify, and build understanding of the mathematics of tens-within-100, hundreds-within-1000, etc. and to connect concepts and procedures throughout the entire base-ten system.

Programs

KP Mathematics programs target students at a variety of developmental levels, including students in the regular classroom, struggling students who require intervention, and students with developmental delays. Each of the programs incorporates KP Ten-Frame Tiles and the instructional approach the tiles make possible.
