Solving and Preventing Reading Failure

The current success of the Winsor Learning/Sonday System project began forty years ago with a very unique and special group of educational pioneers.

Ms. Sonday and her colleagues taught Orton-Gillingham courses for years and found that competent teachers and tutors were experiencing difficulty transitioning into classroom settings. They did not have time to write the learning plans and create the curriculum. For this reason she wrote the lesson plans and, with Winsor Learning, created the Sonday System. Providing these tools enables teachers to shorten training time and continue the learning process while delivering instruction.

The Sonday System enables teachers to use multisensory, structured phonics quickly and successfully because the design is streamlined and uncomplicated, while the directions are explicit and easily understood. Winsor Learning provides ongoing and sustained professional development to enable teachers, principals and other administrators to understand the science and psychology of oral and written language. This knowledge enables easy integration into existing curricula.

Winsor Learning can prepare any teacher to correctly identify and effectively remediate students at every level of intervention, Pre-k to adult.
