Training Timeline

The following Timeline is an example of year one of a two to three year plan for Sonday System® Implementation and ongoing, sustained Winsor Learning professional development support. This chart presents one possible scheduling option. The highlighted area is the first and most crucial part of Year 1. The following model has been successfully implemented in a number of schools and school districts across the country. Other professional development models can be designed to fist state, district, and/or school specifications.

Timeline for years 2 and 3 are based on year-end evaluations and assessments.

Set Up Day*

The Set Up Day is highly recommended for beginning Installation model. A training consultant works in the classroom with identified learner groups and teachers, modeling, pre-testing, and coaching to assure the seamless transition and implementation of the Sonday System 1®.

The Winsor Learning teacher trainer program has a one-to-three year cycle based on instructor background and site commitments. It is the sole intent of Winsor Learning to produce skilled instructors who can replicate and maintain the Sonday System 1® at the school site with minimal training costs.

The outline of Set Up Day and site plans is as follows:

School contact information.
Specifics of site - student population: ELL, SpED, free/reduced lunch, LD, and ethnic diversity.
Student count by Tier Level - by grade, GE, 2nd Tier, SpED,and LD.
Specifics of measurements used to track reading by Tier and grade - Level, Slope, Percent Mastery, and Cut Points.
Specifics of other SBRR programs used currently and/or recently in school and/or District.
Generate lists of identified students - group by Pre-Tests, identify location/time/frequency of sessions.
Organize Master Binder for Sonday System Monitoring with Site Coordinator - Teacher/student info, attendance records, handwriting samples, progress monitoring tools, Pre-Test results, other assessment results of students, plus professional development records.
Establish goals for Winsor Learning/Sonday System Team meetings - by grade, school, network, and region.
Visit each trained teacher in the classroom or local meeting area. Model with students, advise on pace and direction of Sonday System program with specific groups, organize classroom, establish stations, review lesson plans, and overall support.
